Dr. Terry Heng, President
Terry is the President and a founder of UniqueSoft. He has over 40 years of experience in the semiconductor and telecommunications industries.
Prior to founding UniqueSoft, he was a Senior Vice-President and the founder of Motorola’s Global Software Group. Started in 1991 with the establishment of its first software center in Bangalore, India, the Global Software Group grew to over 7500 software engineers in 19 centers in 14 countries around the world, and represented over 60% of the software engineers at Motorola.
Over his long career, he has founded two other successful corporations and served on the board of directors of several other startups, and as a technical and business advisor to numerous corporations, universities and cities around the world. He currently sits on the advisory boards of the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and Washington State University in Pullman.
Dr. Thomas Weigert, Vice President of Engineering
Thomas is Vice President of Engineering and a founder of UniqueSoft. Prior to joining UniqueSoft, he was a Vice-President of Motorola’s Global Software Group, where he was responsible for the software engineering development environment used across the group.
He is the author of a text book, over forty book chapters and seven international standards, which includes the UML and SDL modeling standards. He has refereed articles in international journals and conferences on the application of artificial intelligence techniques to the development of product software. He has previously served on the advisory boards of several leading tools vendors.
Chris Galvin, Chairman of the Board
Chris is the Chairman of the board at UniqueSoft and a founder and partner of Harrison Street Capital, a leading private equity firm based in Chicago, IL. Prior to joining Harrison Street Capital, he served as the chairman and CEO of Motorola before retiring in 2004.
He has served on numerous advisory boards and boards of directors, including the Chairman of Navteq, the Bechtel Corporation’s Board of Counselors, the board of the Rand Corporation, the chairman of the US-China Business Council, and US Department of Defense Science Board and as an advisor to the Chief Executive of Hong Kong.
He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of Northwestern University, the board of the American Enterprise Institute, the Chicago Council of Global Affairs, and is a member of the Business Council (US) and the American Society of Corporate Executives. He also presently serves as an advisor to the University of Virginia, the Tsinghua University School of Economics and the city of Tianjin, China.
Dan Coombes, Vice President of Marketing & Business Development
With 35 years experience at Motorola, Daniel J. Coombes was formerly a Senior Vice President, having held numerous system development and business senior management positions in the data, trunking, Cellular, and 4G businesses. This includes the Privacy Plus system for commercial business communications; the SMARTNET and ASTRO systems for mission critical communications; the CDMA, GSM, and iDEN cellular systems including the BTS and OSS Centers of Excellence; and the 4G WiMAX and LTE systems and the associated CPE equipment.
Dan also held the position of Chief Technology Officer for Motorola Networks & Enterprise. In this position he was responsible for Advanced Technology and IP-based wireless broadband architecture and engineering, including Canopy® solutions, WiMAX, LTE, Metro Wi-Fi, and Broadband over Powerline.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, both from the University of Illinois.
